How to Prepare for Your Lash and Brow Appointment

Booking your next lash or brow appointment? Excellent choice. Doesn’t matter if you’re a loyal RA’RA regular or it’s your first time stepping into our little Scarborough sanctuary, you might be wondering: “Is there anything I should do before I come in?”

The answer? Yep. A little prep goes a long way. Your lashes and brows will thank you for it. So if you're asking what to do before a lash and brow appointment, here’s everything you need to know to make sure you walk out with results that last and a glow that hits differently.

Come Fresh-Faced Babe

For Lashes

Absolutely no makeup, no exceptions. Mascara? Nope. Eyeliner? Pass. Strip lash glue clinging on for dear life? Big no. Clean lashes mean better lift, longer lasting results, and way less drama.

For Brows

Brows, on the other hand, you can totally rock up with your usual brow makeup. We actually love seeing how you style them day to day. It gives us the inside scoop so we can shape, tint, and fluff them to match your vibe while still giving you that face framing upgrade.

Contacts? Take ’Em Out

We get asked this all the time: “Can I wear contacts to a lash appointment?” Best to take them out. Your eyes will be closed for a good chunk of time (especially if you're having a lash lift or extensions), and even the gentlest products can cause irritation if they sneak behind your lenses.

Bring your case and solution, and we’ll remind you before we get started. Easy.

No Caffeine, No Twitching

We know coffee is life. But if you can hold off your morning fix ‘til after your appointment, do it. Caffeine can make your eyes twitch or flutter, especially when you’re lying still. Not ideal when we’re trying to get those lashes perfectly placed or shaped.

So try herbal tea instead. Or better yet, consider this your excuse for a post-glam iced latte reward.

AvoidSkincare Actives Before Waxing

If you’ve been using retinol, AHAs, BHAs, or anything spicy near your eyes or brows, give your skin a 48-hour break before your appointment. Fresh, happy skin means better results with fewer chances of irritation.

Also, give us the goss on any new skincare you’ve added in. Keeping your stylist in the loop means we can keep things safe while still giving you the best possible outcome. And don’t worry, we’ll handle all the detail work for you.

Know What You Like (or Be Open to Chatting It Out)

We love a client with a Pinterest board. If you’ve got lash or brow inspo, bring it along. But if you’re more of a “just make me look good” kind of person, that’s totally fine too.

We’re pros at tailoring your look based on your features, lifestyle, and lash/brow health. So whether you're booking a lash lift, brow lamination, lash botox, or eyelash extensions, we’ll help you figure out what suits you best. And make it feel effortless while we’re at it.

No Saunas, Showers or Sweats Right After

Aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself. So, here’s the plan:

  • No steamy showers or gym sessions for 24 hours after your lash or brow appointment.

  • No makeup or touching the area while everything sets.

  • Keep your lashes and brows dry and free from oils.

Basically, treat your new look like fresh nails: admire them, don’t mess with them.

Come Chill

This is your time to slow down, breathe, and let someone else take care of you for a bit. Once you're in the chair, you can tune out, nap, or chat away. We’ll guide you through the process, keep things light, and make sure you leave feeling like a damn queen.

Why Prepping Matters

Prepping for your appointment helps a ton in making your results last and making the whole experience smoother for both of us.

Because at our beauty salon in Scarborough, we’re all about high vibes, low maintenance, and results that make you feel as good as you look. When you come in prepped and ready, we can get straight to creating the magic.
